Hi
Polite One,
My
father is an alcoholic brute and
not invited to the wedding. My fiancé's
mother is lovely. So, would it be odd to
have just the mother/son dance after the couple's first dance? I don't want to
hurt her.
Dancing
Dear
Dancing,
All
dances are optional, so you could omit all the traditional dances and
create new ones if you wish. You could ask for everyone who has been married
for more than 5 years to step up, for example.
For
my father/daughter dance, I chose my brother-in-law. He is a wonderful person who helped me more
than most in my life. It was a special
moment.
It’s
your reception. Enjoy it!
Sincerely,
The
Polite One
